dei AB... nice review da... good job.. but there a re a lot of things i just COULDN'T digest!!!

honestly i cudnt see KH in all ht e10 roles, few of them were unnecessary(very very). looks like they've just been added 2 make up for the 10 avatars thing!!

i was totally unhappy with the way the vishnu idol was being thrown from place 2 place. i CANNOT and WILLNOT forgive the screenplay/director/bloke who came up wit that ridiculous thought!!!

Asin was wasted. the way things went, he cudve done even asin;s role himself.. making a mock of the entire thing da.. i was very disappointed with the way he murdered the accent(fletcher!!). It was murder, royally.

On the whole, it was just as the famous proverb goes.. it was hyped sooo much... just like "making a mountain out of a molehill" .

- Personally, I've grown tired of telling people that chaos theory is not a heavy concept and it can't be <i>used</i>. Its simple, beautifully portrayed in movies like , '12B' or 'The Butterfly Effect'. Even these movies to not delve into explaining it. So why here? I would say, Kamal wanted to increase the 'coolness' quotient. Vigay movies have 'kuthu' songs for a similar reason.

- "All the roles are very well characterized, none being unfitting or totally out of scope for the movie."
Are you kidding me? More than half of Kamal's characters don't fit in anywhere. What the heck was Poovaraghan doing in the movie? His only interaction with the other characters in the storyline was in that quarry scene, when he appears on the same frame with the "protagonist" for what was like a millisecond. I don't see why the singer dude, the old lady, the tall dude and a lot of other characters had to be in the movie either, besides increasing the number of 'kamalcharacters' to ten. That way, he could have done all the other characters too, like the assistant, mallika sherawat, asin, the villain, his wife, their child who poovaraghan saves, their gardener, the toilet cleaner, the driver, the jalras and every other character in the movie and named it 'Philadelphia 76ers', which makes as much sense as Dasavatharam, if not more, considering the storyline (assuming there was one).

- The ten characters were N-O-T brought together by chaos theory. The events in the movie are N-O-T results of chaos theory either. (like the statue being thrown into sea, that causes tsunami, that saves the world) Its another simple concept called cause effect relationship.

- 'Bullet removing cancer' is an insult to anyone with an IQ greater than 3 and a half. Nothing you say can justify that. It was plain pathetic. Slip in the script? LOL!

- "The CG in this film is actually one of the best KOLLYWOOD has witnessed and this film will be a benchmark towards getting us excellence in this field. So I would rate it ‘Good’. With so many of Kamal’s avathars in one frame, one will never find the difference between CG and reality."
Oh my god! PLEASE STOP! I know of at least half a dozen people who wanted to puke half a minute into the movie, when they saw the graphics. If you ask me, the song 'chikku bukku' from Gentleman had better graphics.

Dasavathram was just a 3-hour torture ridden with illogicalities, cliches, bad graphics and worse storyline, that crossed the line from being watchable to irritating and unbearable merely minutes into the movie.

PS. I'm not a die hard Rajini fan. Neither do i hate Kamal.

ennanga ab idhu.. that movie was average.. u kamal fellows are adding dimensions to the plot which even kamal does not know exists.. uyyo.. what logical connection do u see between chaos theory and this plot? yes, the statue fell down and caused a minor shift in tectonic plate and resulted in an earthquake which caused the tsunami. but does that really explain the reason why the tsunami struck at the exact time fletcher opened the virus dappa? that itself renderred the plot meaningless and made it an allout commercial movie. it was about as interesting as white->black->white...

d and s are both commercial movies. nothing more. only thing is kamal put in a great effort in playing those characters and rajni did not. btw, if u did not know, sivaji grossed 350+ crores, so compared to s, d is still jujubee.

The review is very interesting. But it seems like a FAQ section and it is very defensive of your strong support to Kamalji. It might give an impression to readers that the movie is actually fraught with errors and you are sorting it out.

Well written, but it might be schadenfreude to Thalaivar fans :)

"At least, in Tamilnadu it’s not needed because a film sells for Kamal’s name alone."
- If that were true, anbe sivam would have atleast been an average grosser and not a flop. Please donot reply stating about "Baba". It grossed around 25cr. if im not wrong.

"I would like to ask these pessimists what is a good movie according to their standards?"
- We never initially said anything about the movie, but you kamal fans started out saying that everything in a "kamal" movie would have some reason/intelligence behind it. And you should agree that this bit about the tumor coming out was just a piece of crap.

"The CG in this film is actually one of the best KOLLYWOOD has witnessed "
- Do u really think this is true??? really? i think some of our univ undergrad students could have done a better job. ( Obv im not referring to the multiple kamals in a screen part here)

Finally, i think what ram says is perfectly true. It was just a random sequence of events for 3hrs with the bad guy chasing the good guy and the bad one getting killed at the end. Expected much more from kamal, though as u knw im prolly one of the bigges rajini fans :D

I am an ardent MGR and rajni fan so let me clarify something at the outset. MGR was not even able to mouth dialogues after MR Radha shot him in the throat during the filming of the movie 'koondu kili' if i'm not wrong. Now that this fact is set straight, I cannot imagine another intelligent kamal fan (or should I say intelligent is redundant since any kamal fan is assumed to be intelligent?) stomaching something as silly as a bullet taking away the 'cancer' as said by the doctor (for christs sake tumor is the word, not cancer). Kamal himself has penned the script and written dialogues so this renders me speechless. I still do not see any correlation between chaos theory, perumal, the first scene, tectonic plates, religion.. To sum up, this movie was just a sequence of frames, as was the trailer - a 3 hr random sequence of bad guys chase, good guys run which is a typical vijay movie. Just that kamal has taken a lot of efforts to don different attires for each character. Maybe this isnt a kamal movie like you have mentioned. I liked satya, nayagan, hey ram and his comedies avvai shanmugi, MMKR, the epic panchatantram. So this is possibly not a rant from a random moronic rajni fan. (Again, moronic redundant?) To sum up, this movie is not an entertainer, by no means logical, didnt tickle anybody with its humor, was not racy, and overall neither commercial nor 'kamal'. So lets all stop dissecting the movie and give it the decent burial it deserves.
